Turkish Coffee
(In The Casbah)

"The first time I saw her, she was drinking
Turkish coffee at an outdoor cafe.
That's when she took the time to send
a glance my way."  Pepe le Moko/James

They say that rogues, gamblers, and
jewel thieves live in the Casbah
and I know that to be true.
Yet thats not all that live
in the Casbah, I know of
an honest one or two.
And herein I met a woman,
a precious woman that
stole my heart away.
One morning as I watched
her sipping Turkish coffee
she sent a glance my way.
For that moment, I froze in
motion as my heart pushed
hard upon my chest, for
in the Casbah a thousand women
had caught my eye, but my heart
liked her the best.
Now my days are spent in pleasure,
my nights wrapped in ecstasy.
I'm so glad she came to the Casbah
and sent her glance towards me.

She wore two strands
of white pearls
around her neck.
