today here I stand
with only one thing
to give you
it is the best I have…
my words

Happy Birthday

On The Edge Of A Shadow

I stand
on the edge
of a shadow
yet, it encompasses me
I am part of something
much bigger than I am
a perfect trace drawn
from where light is
the other side of darkness
these are lines much tighter
that are pulled from a heart
a bonding for all time
reached when all else
was shorn and broken
to be recognize as a part
and from everywhere I stand
inseparable you are there
cast as part of me
