I search to find composure
tempered by age, by that
which has blessed the ear,
the eye,   the lightness of
touch.

I wander, though my soul
tells me to step, step bravely
along a path marked by
briars, flowers, ancient oaks
that catch the sun’s rays.

I look into a water’s pool,
touching the smooth surface,
causing a ringlet to form and
flow slowly away, away into
the flowing waters, consumed
by that which gave birth.

I wait, as patience whispers
and speaks bravely, calming
that of which I am, a mere
and mortal man....

And as the path does wander,
so does the waters of life....
Moving slowly toward the
mighty ocean, where life
is born and waters dance the
shores, receding into the
blue foam....until stars
dance and a toll of a bell
brings home the hearty
wanderer.....once more

Your poem touched me.  I hope things are going a little better.  I'm sure you miss him.
Your poem is beautiful.  I'd like to put the Wanderer in my library.

Mere man....I think not for your words are perfection....Keep writing, dear friend....you are soothing to the heart and soul.... I love it...

I've not been around here much lately...
this is what I miss.
I love reading you,
'cause you never let me down!
It's always good,
