Something About Light

It is always feathers
and turning shadows
into something about light.
I see it moving like the Morning Glory
from the far side of destiny,
tendrils of gold
falling from an oval sky.

It warms the slanting green chair,
stops it from look so proper
in its humph of cold wood,
then melts across the pathway of cement
into the room
moving towards the crumple of sheets
still indented by the naked night.

I close my eyes and turn on the sky,
wait for the fragrance of line dry
to open doors and let out the danger
of the dragging down fog,
as the dog, warm and filled with barking,
furs swiftly past my leg
into the mocking bird’s song.

Inside this room of bone and skin
I awaken to the possibility of wing.
yes, it is always feathers and flight
and the changing way of shadows
and something about light.
--------
with thanks to Wranx for getting me thinking about light, and another special muse who inspired me to start.

Martie...I had to smile at the title...
and drew in my breath at the song of your poem.

I have often wanted to find words twined,
just so...but you not only braided these so well, you added a scarlet ribbon.

How could this poem not be written! You have such an eye for finding the uncommon within the common, and such a gift for leading us to that special vantagepoint from which we can see it too..... This is truly beautiful.

Martie - I read these poems of yours and my journey begins - you take me places I have never been but feel like I have been there before - you waft feelings and images over me that lead me on - this is just so great as are you!!!  Paul

Martie, enjoyed the lovely poem; so real; and I especially liked the last stanza.  I think we must be like plants or something (we need the sunlight).

A beautiful photography.
Yes, literally "light writing"

And if something I've written contributed to this, I am most flattered.

this spoke volumns about change, and welcoming and melding into everything until all becomes so amazingly positive....with purpose...even in all our nakedness, we are still children who possess so much, if we'd only open to it...

You are, and so vividly you walk...wonderful writing...
