Silk Lined

The sun is flickering on the floor
of the kitchen,
tossed about by lace
it catches at me as I cross it.

To decorate this aging
is no longer possible, but the wind
knows, just moaning in the afternoon
changes the listener.

The mourning dove is calling now,
her dulcimer love song
sachets across the telephone lines
in pewter love.

I know if I catch it all
and somehow roll it round enough
to throw, this feeling will come back
and wrap me with its wings.

Then, perhaps I will be able to explain
why this time of day
makes me feel silk lined.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.
(ee cummings)

Martie~
What's to say ... that hasn't been said ?

You ignite imagery and send it bursting forth in confetti array~

Now ... this is so silky ...
What a lovely feeling you give this time of day.

I do believe I agree with Marge, they are going to have to create a whole new dictionary just so we can find new ways to say "wow" and ... thanks...

for the same reason reading your poetry makes us feel the same way
"silk lined"
what a lovely moment of inspiration...
what a poetically perfect intend.
Looking at things thru your eyes..makes me realize I walk around blind far too often.
Beautiful Martie..another keeper for my favs of yours...the list grows longer. *S*

only you could give love that satisfies the soul...
see the darkness of my heart and still won't let me go.

Well Martie you are definitely the weaver of words, and use them in an entirely different way than most, and for that I am one that is most grateful for this was magnificant!  I may never look at a ray of sunshine in my kitchen the same again.  Thank you.

Oh, what a beautiful introductory read for me. I so look forward to more. I love the way you toss words around and make a beautiful picture. And it all makes perfect sense! Talented. To say the least.
Sincerely

Ecellently done, you truely have a way with words.

Do not fear going forward slowly,
Fear only standing still.

Strive for higher levels, if they seem out of reach... Grow, and they will get closer.
