Writing feelings from the
depth of heart
she tries to describe
her thoughts

Sometimes writing of pain
embedded deep within
Writing so that maybe some healing
will come for the scars
of heart aches

Most times she writes of
the happiness she
feels with the love of her life
of the stars and moon
the velvet skies
moonlit nights
whispers of love from
the breeze

She tells of the true love
they have found
wanting others to share
in the feelings
of her joy

One day she happened
upon a place
where she could share her thoughts
feelings of her heart
She knew when she first came
even before joining this group of writers
that her writing was so little compared
to the talents she found on
these pages
so little, except that it did come
from her heart

She then decided to write her heart
on these pages
and to her amazement
these talents
these giants among writers
accepted her and called these
writes from her heart
poetry

These caring people have
supported her
encouraged her
have given to her their love
and friendship
from their
hearts

Still
some days she wonders
if these writings from her heart
really do belong here
amongst all these
giants
all these real writers
of real
poetry

revisited for all who think their
writing isn't as good as others

You've written for so many of us... admiring the mighty, feeling we fall short in any comparison. *S* But that's one of the wonders of poetry... we all matter. *S*

Dear Ethel, to write from the heart is  such an important premise for any poetry. You express thoughts most of us have!
If we compare, we might vacillate ... and renounce, but we all are unique divine expressions, as "every petal of the rose", as dear Seymour expresses so beautifully.
Happy Valentine's day.
Love and hugs. Margherita

(smiles) Yay! Oh Ethel, everyone belongs as everyone has the magic of poetry and music in their heart, they just have to have the confidence to let it out! (kiss on cheek) We all have a special voice to share that is unique, yay, God Bless You, you belong, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Giants, if giants they be, are just plain-folk a little bigger than others, but just like them, they put their feeling,  their hearts and souls - to words, and share them with others - just like you and your wonderful words - , dear friend.

Ethel, you are as much a poet as any who
write within these blue walls....a gem in
the rough,  being polished daily,  becoming
spectacularly beautiful and sparkling.

Never feel you don't fit....for we all have
worn the same shoes,  walked the same paths
to poethood, so to speak...keep walking!

garysgirl...You have such an amazing way for portraying your inner emotions through your poetry. This world would be the lesser if your words had not come into it. This poem is beautiful and full of honest emotion. You are one of the giants of writing on this site. ***Ivy Rose
