This pain that gnaws has taken hold
working the truth, draining the confidence
that silently closes the doors
to the still of the night.

Deep thoughts smother the laughter
of remembrance and curse the moonchild,
condemning the heart to darkness
and fear to be lived.

The cold ices the last of the warmth.
Its melt tasteless in the face of passion.
Reality fading into a whisper
where only the invisible is seen.

The mist is tapering, the haze dimming
but the winter remains to torment the soul.

M

Aww, the seasons of love are never ending,
and never easy.

Hugs Maureen~
