As Tears Begin to Fall
I lay
Face down,
Upon my bed,
As tears begin to fall.

So much pressure,
So much pain,
When will it end?
Tell me,
When will it end?

A wail escapes me now,
As I think about my friend,
And what he is doing,
And whether it will end.

He promised me he would stop,
But what did I find,
I find him smoking,
On the corner again.

I pulled him aside one day before,
To ask him to stop,
He had not been doing this for very long,
He promised he would,
For himself,
And even for me.

He smoked in front of me,
Plain as day,
Took advantage of my vision,
And never told me what he had done.

It hurts to see,
What he does to himself,
Just because he says it feels good,
When I know,
That he will regret it,
In years to come.

Assuming you mean tobacco smoking-- there's still lots of hope. Millions are quitting every year. I am one of them. Keep talking to him! Grover.
