In his want of destination
a day seemed an eternity
and an afternoon a half eternity,
except at Kroeker’s pond-
where a bullhead would sit on muddy bottom
until a shout of glee,
then eternity would shatter as years later would his want.

deep, thoughtful lines. "In his want of destination,a day seemed an eternity" i guess i'm going through this, you have placed the words real well.

Tim, this is a very thought provoking write. I am putting it into my library to enjoy over and over again. Chris

(sigh) Oh Tim, this is a most beautiful pondering poem, sweet friend, this brought such a young vision to my head, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Tim, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

It's too early.  First read, I thought "what?"

Second read...[still no coffee, but oh well] I said, Oh, yes...

Tagged around my dad when knee high to his boots and was complaining about h o w   l o n g  that particular summer day seemed, and how I wished to we had this, and that, and could go here, and there.

His words?

Don't wish your life away.

Too true.

Thanks for the sounds of the pond, Sir, especially on this chilly day.
