A New Love

When I saw you for the first time,
the wall was falling fast.
The pain that was unending,
was thrown into the past.

You turned my way and smiled,
your face as bright as the sun.
I knew at that very moment,
the past was finally done.

You awoken my heart in every way,
I thought for sure it could never be.
You succeeded in making me smile again,
you were the one that set my soul free.

So, as I face the future,
with you hopefully by my side.
The new me is learning to live again,
and the old me.......has finally died.

ok. i enjoyed the poem. i thought it had a good message but some of the rhyming threw off what could have been an extremely powerful poem. but i liked it none the less.
keep up the good work.
