He stood there,
trying to look strong
despite his weakened interior.
And we all knew.
We were all thinking
the same thing.
But nobody would
say it out loud.
We just waited.
He looked up and the sky turned
a shade of gray
so close to black,
you could barely tell the difference.
And we all ran for cover.
Confused.
Because we didn't fully
understand what we were running from.
But some instinctive reflex told us
it was the right thing to do.
But he refused to move.
He continued to stand there.
He continued trying to look strong.
He almost had us convinced that maybe,
just maybe,
he didn't have to try.
Maybe beneath that strong stance
we would only find more strength.
And we all knew.
We were all thinking
the same thing.
But still we were all
too afraid to
say it out loud.
That's when he started to smile.
Because he had won.
And he stopped trying to look strong.
Because we all knew.

Namasté. I admire your amazing ability to express to the world something so abstract. Wow, i am so amazed.. I really, really loved this one. It literally brought tears to my eyes. Once again, Namasté.
