Not Everyone Is Going To Love You

I know not everyone is going to love you.
Not all will see you as a prize.
There are the ones you know are true.
But I like the ones that wear no disguise.

Some see you as their mistake,
they opened their eyes and then awake,
They see the error they have made,
Wonder why they ever stayed?

Well I thought you said some are there for a season
Some are there for a lifetime.
Then why do you not leave me, what is your reason?
Why don't you tell the truth one time?

I never forced anything on you, why didn't you just go?
I did everything I could, asking what I could, wondering
What could I do that would be pleasin'
I asked so that's what I could show.

Still nothing, just complaining, me still left pondering.
What must a person do, is it all about appease?
You off on your tangent of hate, like a nomad off wandering
When all I wanted, was to do the right thing, so please...

Please tell me, you know the mistake you made
You know me, I'm the one
That mistake you made so long ago
The one with which you are done.
Tell me, won't you let me know
When will you have ever won?

I concede, I wave the white flag
I doth to your command almighty one surrender.
How does it feel, are you banner proud, and do you still brag,
You turned it all to cinder?

That's my philosophy.

It's not really as personal as we take it, huh? I look at it philosophically as, say, casting a part in a movie. Marlon Brando is a wonderful actor, but he would have made a rotten Batman, yanno?
