pain is your friend
the good doctor said
making his marks on my chart
funny I never did take it that way
unless I was wearing
mink-lined bracelets
and "somebody" kissed me first.

"vive'" I murmered shaking my head.
What's that you say, he inquired.

"vive' la difference..." under my breath.
I wrote them the check and expired.
