Wisteria Lane

Friday’s fog
finds no reprieve
from workday week.

Life’s list of demands
still haunting my mind,
finding only
momentary
lull in
untimely rhythms of
wiper blades.

Subtle scents of
freedom escape in
misty drizzle dusk.

I search for a detour,
perhaps a path to sane,
a road not taken,
found not with
lamp nor lantern
but in dream of Wisteria Lane

To the left she lie,
this road unseen
except in mind’s eye

Stately estate upon
velvet green

Inside a family,
dresses for dinner,
to gather 'round table set
with China
and polished silver
aglow,
each napkin
pressed, folded just so.

Everyday dinner
needs no reason,
for fine wine
here is always
in season.

In my moment of lucid,
my numb in restrain
I find lift of spirit
in Wisteria Lane

Now a rear view reflection,
this sleeping street,
calls to hold her in dream...
reality 'tis never as sweet

Great poem, dear Patricia. But you know as you say it ... precious China etc. isn't a guarantee for happiness ...
Love and hugs. Margherita

So many of us,  multitudes....billions,
wish we could have that moment on Wisteria
Lane....but would it only be just a moment,
or could it be a lifetime?   Perceptions,
for often the rich are hungry...and some of
the poor are pleased to be just alive...

Great write Patricia,  nicely written,
what a message..

Here, here!!!  Nevertheless, it sure
inspired a beauty of a poem.

Really nice write Patricia,  and a timely message indeed.

It's a happy thing that the rear-view mirror is so small, compared to the windshield....

(smiles) Oh Patricia, this is beautiful, sweet friend, I too believe that the poor know what true happiness is much more than the rich, and I only wish the rich could see the faces reflected through the china and blue crystalware and give them a hand! (big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Patricia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Noah Eaton
