Calling to my mind’s affirmation
Moral choice rings in vivid momentums
Down to every last haunting detail
Flaring well in any face that fails

An old woman sits in my hair in astonishment
As I look down the smoke filled barrel fired pungent
I’m reminded of brick houses scattered in fields
While she’s sticking my head with her donated quill

Lazing in coolness, enjoying aloofness from home
Crafting goals from tall trees, the entire world is composed
In highlands, clear weather spews all that is said
Expecting solitude, self-reliance, an open fire & cornbread.

Merging with sounds of water came along a river’s effects
Talking softly but firmly, telling stories of animals men protect
Portraying spirit as a frail thing, obsessive notions & perplexing morphemes
Spreading wings, nonetheless, in each current of their dreams

A breeze worked its way through folds in my ear
Lights set in motion at a slant, speaking evening was near
Turning down its shirtsleeves in perception of night
A golden helmet of bright orange, fluted my campsite

Damp air coming through forest trees was rich and fragrant
Forming visible moisture, as if twine hung from the heavens
With a shimmering dense quality, having thoughts of its own
Despite palmettos rattling their leaves whispering of onyx birthstones

Now, this prospect from my reading chair confronted major shapes
Of current positions, which, through summer’s moods grey, principally landscaped
For the tatters of clouds hanging subtle but strong
Would have thought this book unnecessarily long

Words that cantered, spoke with baffling pride
Of great anguish which scratched and pierced the country side
Breaking down tall ruffs of asters and maidenhair ferns
Now more wide and formal in its clear architecture

Leaving the woods exposed in an undignified posture
Offering a fortune in relief from a bread new dormer
Now lay in complete repose, abstract watercolors designed and echoed
Cupping its mouth leaning forward reaping the effects of each new notes

Strange pirouettes dance a new mourning dress of life
Elbow and steer us up every congregation of hillsides
Walking a litter faster sometimes, avoiding the shifty nature of time
To keep from falling into death’s eternal pastime

Taking dinner and a movie passing prayer and remarks
Troubling suddenness with which we falter and smart
Those simple messages for all concerning internal wealth
Offers home delivery with a sometimes grimy stealth

I reckoned this wash of fine solitude
Was the feeling of a new life seemingly fore viewed
By the crafty nature of some unforeseen source
Diminishing all capabilities, I thought, with remorse

But the night passed on by, without being the worst
Clouds had broken open and revealed dreamfaced meteors
Flinging themselves out of an empty part of the sky
In whizzing trajectories, combining with my eyes

The sign said the ferry left at eight
I was charged the utmost, but willing to pay
Thinking of the greatest contrast between night and sunlight hours
In the spirit of partnership and confidence all things are ours…
And
Peace at any Cost, is no Peace at all……….

LeeJ
You have put a cork in the bottle of wisdom
and threw it in the ocean. Maybe someday Adam will find it.

I have no words
except
thank you,
for this,
another gift from your mind heart and soul, dripped from the pen of Life.
