I sat,   watching the grains fall, hearing
the words again.   Words of love and
kindness, of compassion and desire.
Words of a moment, when two share,
give and let each other feel.

On my haunches, as the sand swept
lingeringly around my ankles.
Thinking of a kiss, of a taste
savored, savored yet again.

Do you?   Do you trust me?  Again
the tiny granules fell, as did a tear
from my eye.   Look into my eyes
for the answers,   for in my soul are
those things you desire to hear.
Touch my chest, feel the firm and
steady staccato beat...Does my
heart skip?

You hold my soul and heart within
the tenderness of delicate fingers.
Protect them as I protect your own
within mine...For....yes, yes I do.
And I will until the desert rains
wash my tears into the raging sea.

And then, even then.....I will.
