For Larrah

Somehow, someday,
I hope you will see.
This bounty of love,
Residing in me.

It fills up my heart,
And clouds up my mind.
Sometimes my good judgment,
Is so hard to find.

It should not be so hard,
No not hard at all,
To scold a small child,
Who writes on the wall.

But you look up at me,
With dark pleading eyes,
Tears welling up,
And it's my heart that cries.

"I'm sorry Daddy",
So sadly you say.
My anger and irritation,
Quickly turn to dismay.

I don't know what to do,
My stearness all but lost.
I don't want you to cry,
Whatever the cost.

However, I know,
It is also my lot,
To impart to you my wisdom.
(What little I've got).

I must teach you discretion.
And to know right from wrong.
I must teach you now,
I won't have you for long.

So Daddy resolves
To do what is right.
I correct you and kiss you,
And tell you good night.

And though you don't know,
While you sleep in your bed,
I slip into your room,
And kiss your sweet head.

Sometimes it's hard to scold our children for we don't want to see them hurt, but in later years she will thank you for all that you taught her.She is a sweet little girl and you are a great father and she knows that.

Little girls have a special place in their daddy's heart..
and at times watching them while they sleep..
well, they just make you melt.
Lovely write this.

I got all choked up with emotion reading this poem of love for your daughter. You are a kind and loving soul and you are a blessing to each other.

Sending lots of love and protection for  you and your family,

EA
