Draped in lean of limb
Across the edges of waters skin
And rough broken teeth
That chews waves to foam
Then spits them out
In an echo of chaotic stream
Are trees not yet turning heads
But still
Catching my eyes
As I scan easily the evening fade
And wonder how much longer
Before this final warmth
Begins its demise
And I am left with ice
To turn this view
To black and white

A negative of summer
Turned bare

Perhaps I’ll not remember this year
The ones that came before
And of how laughter from snow falling
Or the quick stepped chill of morning
Brought giggles while I re-built the fire

Maybe I’ll not hear the strains of a song
Holy
And be brought to tears
By some happenstance of notes
Carried across the still of frozen air
That seem to pierce this shell
And take me to some ideal
Of childhood I never quite lost

Then again,
        It might just be time
To learn again how to smile
At flakes falling in slow spiral down
To embrace the smell of coffee
While wrapped in a blanket
As one sees the sun rise
Over limbs naked splay of reach
For heavens sky

Yes,
Perhaps this year

I’ll try.

me thinks you already know where you have the best view.

well I love winter (thus my nickname on here of Wynter Bliss)...and the snow no matter how deep. It brings one closer to self especially when the whole town is locked in and no one can go anywhere.

I use to take evening-towards-midnight walks in the snow with my husband,  and would watch as our tracks would be covered.

I loved to wake to mornings covered white...everything fresh and new.
It is cold today here...colder than normal by about 15 degrees and everyone is complaining about the coming of a hard winter...I say let it come...I am warmed by the thought.

See, you made me feel again, today, Ron.
Thank you

(sigh) And I know you can try if you put your heart to it, for each year is more than just a black-and-white still-frame or lithograph! (big hugggsssssss) May you see through more than just tiger eyes this time and see prisms too, dearest friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Oooh, beautiful... thanks for that reminder to not take life so seriously and to enjoy everything I see and experience if I can

upon the barren limbs,
you do find the full view

Karilea said it best....
You write of 'hope' Ron.
I have learned to enjoy all the seasons..
and I too loved to be 'locked in' in the winter..
In front of a warm fire with a bottle of chilled wine,
and that special someone to cosy up to.
This is a beautiful treasure...and I'm keeping it!

Ron~

Have to save this one...I really loved it.

Ironically...I have a fireplace and don't know how to use it...maybe it's time to try.

Cough...

You don't just see through tiger eyes, but you see through your angelic heart which shows in everything you do.

It certainly might alright, and what a nice way to remind one of the pleasures that could be so enjoyed in life,
