Between the Lines

She Worries, So

She worries so, this sister, mine
as she calls and waits to hear my voice.
I let it ring six, maybe a seventh time
before I answer, in know, my choice.

Sometimes God answers, in whispers sweet
so hard to hear her in damaged word.
But call she did this morning late
and even in whisper, my heart had heard.

A punctured lung, it thought to be,
those tests not sure but at least had cause.
She whispers of present she has for me.
But it is I who've been gifted, I thought in pause.

Still cancer looms, for another day.
Yet reasons for whispers, now bring her a smile.
The happy inside came across the line
together we were, though far in mile.

She worries so, this sister, mine.
Even though in health she's not too well.
Worries more about my plight as I
hold on to each moments' dwell.

She makes a date this week to share,
have lunch, and laughs in each others care.

M

(Some news on her whispered words and trouble breathing...the breathing tube down her throat damaged her vocal chords (temporarily) and the trouble in getting breaths is because they think one of the biopsy needles may have punctured a small hole in her lung, while trying to find out if she now has lung cancer on top of needing the liver transplant...and yet, she worries about me...)

Such struggles we endure.
Never-the-less, good to have a sibling that one can share with.
And thanks for sharing this.

The love that is apparent in this made my heart grow wings...

beautiful.

And if I may, I'll keep your sister and you in my thoughts and prayers.

ah, am with serenity on this, yes we are blessed by such angels, even if God is preparing them to go home, they are a blessing until they flutter goodbye...I too will pray, it seems this is a bond that should stand firm, I will pray that it does

Maureen, your sister really does sound like an Angel....
always worrying about others besides herself.
Hugs to both of you

Maureen...this is so tenderly touching,
and yes...the love is apparent.

I, too, will keep you and your sister in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs to you, my friend,
