~* The Beaches Of Me *~

Sunny licks of flames
warm dim shadowed walls
in fluttered light
as yawning eyelids
slowly drift apart
winking sheer curtains open
for this day to begin.

Catlike, I retract
one slow silhouette of my dreams
tries desperately to waltz away.
Slowly, I grasp it by one flimsy edge
hugging it so close to me,
wishing it to surrender
for just a few more moments
of sweet recollection.
Soon I taste the tantalizing
flavour as it splashes
pleasure over my waking mind.

Through the bare touch of
my memory
I allow fine grains of sands
where we made love
to tickle my toes.
The grit births a giggle.
I smile in glee
remembering me,
a woman so wrapped in love.
Last night
your waves of passion
washed over
the beaches of me.

~*~

Note: This little poem came from inspiration by Martie's "Melting Time." See, sometimes can't write as well as another, but certainly get our own type of inspiration through them.  Thank you Martie, as you know this is one of my favorites of yours.

Here is a link to Martie's poem. /pip/Forum42/HTML/001476.html

I don't want to know where I am going, it'll ruin my journey.

Sharon...I'm so glad that my poem inspired this beautiful piece...but I think your muse had a lot more to do with it than I did.  It's wonderful to see you posting again.

Thank you all - warming up the little muse with Martie's help.  If I need inspiration I just go to her archives and presto!

Sharon...the warmth of this...is simply beautiful.
I do believe this is one of the best I've read from you,
and definitely one of my favorites.

(smiles) Oh Sharon, this is beautiful, sweet friend, I believe the most special moment of my life as of yet is when I found that sand dollar on the shores of my heart and knew the angels of God were together and guiding me! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
