Golden Oldies

It’s a round ’n golden oldie day
I smiled at sun to hear her say
“lilies ring me round today”
for it’s a yellow day in play

August greets us with o’blige
and I would wonder its perceive
that soon a fall shall color leaves
as gold would let us all believe

that in the round of oldies gold
as music’s life would stand us bold
a lily fresh keeps me from old
just as love’s within my hold

it’s a round ’n golden oldie day
for it’s a yellow day in play

For some reason, Cat Stevens' song "Morning Has Broken" plays in my mind after having read this smiling tribute to a positive day...

I have always planted Day Lilies in my gardens!--along with irises! The rich sun-yellow color is a joy to behold--as was this glorious poem!

Have a wonderful day!

Oh...I love how this reads and the way its echo remains in my mind.  Smiling and shaking my head in awe of you.  Lovin' that rhyme, Ms. Karilea!

I love daffodils... A golden oldie day sounds like just the day for me!
