I delight in the breeze
That carries clouds over trees
And crowd them beneath my feet;
I yearn for the moonlight
That rises deep into the night
Making the sky viewing complete.
On the morning I leave that place
Slowly going across the stone face
Leaving the thin air so cool
Back down the rugged pathway
Then sit under the sun at noonday
Beside the calmness of a pool;
I can but visit here so rare
To climb atop the rough stair
And give my eye a natural feast;
So much beauty it has to give
I long there to forever live
And be the mountain’s priest.

Gloom

Inspired by the writings of Po Ch-i (772-846) China

I wanna go there too -- I miss it, here in the flats of Southern Cal. Thanks for this little visit.

Thank you, ratleader,
Seems like a nice lifestyle, living on the mountain
Worshipping the natural beauty.
I am pleased you liked this.
I suggest you head for the Mountains when you can

Thank you, Sunshine,
Glad you liked this, a little inspiration from my Chinese friends
Unfortunately they all lived in the 600’s and all I can do
Is minor imitations of their poetry.

Thank you, gemjop,
It is a pleasant place I’m sure
The poem comes from the Po Ch-I’s Chung-nan Mountain,
A retreat he went to and got away from the rigors of his life.
