No Need

today
I find myself
a little bit stronger
the dull ache
still there
yet, as I read
the words I wrote
I am thankful
that you
at one time
let me
love you
and in its
short span
changed me
showing me
want without need
thank you

I really like the way (whether it was intentional or not) that you say "let me love you" rather than for example "you loved me" or something. I think the whole getting-over-someone phase is something everybody can probably relate to and for me this was very touching

You found the bright side. I like that about you.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

This is beautiful... and so very touching. *S* It's hard for gratitude to overcome the grieving... but it's part of healing. *S*

Helen, I believe that no matter how painful our past was, it is a step to our growth. Even if we sometimes wish it had never happened, it does make us into the people we become.
Yhank you for this.
