Midnight Indecisions

Midnight indecisions
ravage sea blue satin
where we once lay

Now just a mind’s
shallow display, a

Soiled vision of
two mute shadows
standing arm’s
length in muddy shoals,

Never to be submerged
in gentle cleanse of
baptismal stream

Forgiveness remains
unfound, beneath a
slow trickle of
marbled fountain
where we danced
as one celestial body
among reflection
of night sky

At passion’s hour

I close my eyes
in one last
embrace of what
could have been and

With your release,

indecision fades

blissful into mists
of midnight

Alone,
I decidedly bid
myself good night

I stretched for forgiveness once...
and almost didn't find
my way home.

Well done, Patricia...

Patricia~
I smile with this read ... that's the way to work that muse ... keep her up past the mid-of-night-hour !!!

Love the tender poignancy of the message lady~

Oh, my! Didn't you just go and pen yourself another beauty! Felt this one to the end!

~ and I bid you a "Good night" for each and every nighttime you have remaining on this earthly realm...

Loving hugs,

Love the imagery and vocab in this poetess Patricia...is has a slightly haunted, surreal feel to it...and the title is so perfect.
Congrats on your 1000th post...youre a wonderful addition to our poetic family.

This really touched something deep within me.. perhaps because I have had so many wee hours of wakefulness, struggling with indecision.. that and the fact that you wrote it so very well

Thank you for sharing
