Oh but to find the solitude of
a calming breeze across the plain of my
heart in hurried beat.

To quell the tide and torrent of moments
yet to be felt, unseen in the darkness of
the misty fog of tomorrow.

Still...
the rocks fall around me, as pebbles
slip and slide beneath a foundation of
maturity shaken ever so slightly by
what is yet or again.  For yet resides
in the darkest recesses of a long sigh,
a tremor of speech, a journey into
a tunnel carved from one’s own life.

Might the light brighten upon the passage
of the last rail at tunnel’s end or will
the blackened plume consume....

Yea...
Though I walk, though I stumble,
though I fall....I shall rise again to face
yet another river of doubt, dam of
worries stifled by the cement wall of
courage wearing against the lapping of
waters unseen.

For at the emerald edge, beyond the
crimson rivulets.....a brighter day
rises on the single shimmering
ray of tomorrow and hope.

Barry, what a beautiful write.  I'd pick a favourite line, but, the entire poem is powerful, so inspiring.  This is a keeper

The emerald edge
holds so much promise,
promise me
you'll not let go
of the vision,
not just yet.

(smiles) Yes indeed, sweet friend, don't stare into the abyss but rather dive in yourself and see the pearls you can uncover deep in the coral! (big hugggssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is wonderfully honest, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
