Riding on air
I am mired in the billowy clouds
Enduring the rollercoaster ride
That disrupts my slumber

The silvery moon
Shining so bright
With beams kissing the ground
Lay off to my left

The sky bursting with color
Fades to my right
Magenta to blue
Blue to yellow

Leads me to wonderment
As the dots below rush past
Amongst the dark expanse
That time seems to have forgotten

Wearily I go forward
As I taste the fruit of the vine
And sample the meager offerings
That diminish daily

I think of the challenges
The ways in which I can return
To the shore with frothy foam
And big bridges to bring us together

Where once again
Our lips will meet
And we share our secrets
And be friends, once again

I like this....did the friend whose lips met yours start you riding on air in the first place?  I like the imagery...

Hope you don't base the quality of your poetry on the number of replys!!!
I enjoyed this....
