"You can't go home again"

               -Thomas Wolfe 1940
.
.
.

Regret's a squeaky shoe on a middle-
aged walking tour of the native arcane

as veils of snow weigh long romantic lashes
dumping fantasies to the 'oft trod sidewalk

which calcifies in certainty, stiffens over
time, bars the idyll, repels all revision.

Home's the interim between arriving howling,
moist and supple and the knowledge that we

leave dry, brittle, in silence, to the bright
from the white noise of the narrative.

In exposing sunset's illusion I grew dizzy,
hate of hate glutted, love of love starved.

There is no still life, no still death.
Time is only matter if you're music.

Any one of these wonderful lines of verse could be the makings of a poem in their own right, Henri... I'd love to see more of your work - I find it fascinating... Thanks for coming back ro our boards...

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Henri, this is so very true, and that is why I believe we all have a song and we must sing it as music is life! (sigh) This is touching, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Henri, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
