Encounter With The Elf

I found myself in peril
While in a forest so black
Against a mighty dragon
From whom I saw no escape

With a mighty claw
He struck me to the ground
I, unable to move
held my breath in hopes he'd be gone

From squinted eyes I did see
A look of fright form on his horrid face
And then he did flee
On wings of such strength

Slowly I let my breath escape
And my lids fell quick
From then I remember only sleep
On stone and itchy moss

Although I was awakened
A bright light on my eyes
And such beauty did I see
It was hard to believe me alive

Her hair was of silver
Her eyes of clear blue
Her mouth of rosey pink
I'd of sworn she untrue

Her cloak was of silk
Her gown of the same
Her shoes of soft leather
I wondered me insane

Her ears all a point
Her nose very narrow
Her hands slender and gentle
I heard the voice of a sparrow

Those rosey lips parted
From that sparrow voice a chant
Although unbelieved by me then
'Twas a spell of steadfast healing

As quick as she'd appeared
And that mighty dragon fleed
She smiled and was gone
After tending to my very need.

Isnt the best of my creations, but it was inspired by a sketch my significant other made of an elf. As for 'fleed' I know it isnt a word.

I enjoyed this, but then I'm a closet Tolkien fan and love his elves.
As for Fleed it is a word if you want it to be, the beauty of poetic license.

Dragon Mistress,
I like the elf image. Sometimes, I also write of elves. I think I might use fleed in my next poem.

Dragon Mistress,
thanks for the borrowed word, this is what I did with it.
