Winter Break

We have a "winter break" today,
Eliminating skies of gray.
A dome of blue is now in place,
Bringing smiles to every face.
Both birds and people seem to be
Much happier and I agree
It's such a welcome change, but I,
Know winter still is lurking nigh.
We'll have to deal with snow and ice,
But any change from that is nice!
God must have known just when we
Would need a break, to let us see
Spring is waiting in the wings,
With all the pleasures that she brings.

You're right.  These infrequent nice days are gifts from God.  I enjoyed it.  Joyce

(smiles) Oh Betty, this is lovely, sweet friend, and I can't wait so much for the spring to come and all the robins and bluebirds to come out ad sing again, yay! (kiss on cheek) This is a beautiful tranquil poem, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Betty, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

This is a nice look at what's to be - pretty.

I'm a reader - not a writer.

Joyce:  Thanks!  I was reading some of the comments on others poetry and saw that you had won several first place awards at the flower show.  Congratulations! How very rewarding for you.

Noah:  I'm impatient for spring also. Especially since my lilac hedge is all budded out and I don't want the buds to freeze now. Have my fingers crossed! Enjoy your comments. Thanks.

For the coming Spring, "Hip-Hip-Hooray!!!!"  But... long breaks of blue as you've described here are very very nice too. God bless you and thanks once more for another uplifting poem.

Bob:  Thanks for your caring comments. The day I posted this it started to snow and snowed most all day.  There went our early spring!  Oh well, I don't think winter has much longer to run and I for one, am glad!
I love spring!

Alyssa:  I can understand your confusion about "seasons" if you live in Washington. We lived in Seattle for a number of years and I forgot what the sun looked like during the winter.  Thanks for your lovely remarks.  I appreciate them so much.

Good personification of spring.  God does seem to work in wondrous mysterious ways.  Thank you.

This brightened my whole day and I am desperately trying to coax Spring out from around the corner. But alas, I too know Winter is still lurking ...

We're certainly uplifted by a blue sky this time of year as well as your appreciative lines.  However, we'd never know their joy without the cold, dark days we experience in contrast.

Dear Marge:  Thanks so much for the invitation and if I ever hit the Lotto, I'll take you up on it! Nothing would please me more!

Thanks for the link.  I read it and will read it again!  It's that kind of a poem.

Marti:  Thanks for your nice comments. I have been looking for signs of spring, since we've had a very mild winter, but now that March is here, it is snowing every day!
