The dark shadows filled my room
Only candlelight held back the gloom
From taking over the silent tomb
As I ponder today’s events once more
And worried of the morrow coming soon.

I had just returned from the nearby store
Leaving some groceries by the kitchen door
That needed to go in the pantry on the next floor,
Tired and musing for a few moments I sat
Till thoughts and energy returned once more.

I went to gather the bag I had tiredly sat
Off hurried my furry ring-tail cat
And I wonder what mischief he was at
And lifted the bags to leave the room
And the contents fell to the ground with a splat.

I came to realized very soon, why the cat was in the room
As I gathered thing off the floor, I saw him sitting by the door
Now knowing the mischief he was at, that curious ring-tail cat.

Gloom
A poem to my cat Saturn
probably a terrorist in a previous life

I guess I am lucky, mine, Sugar, is beyond the playfulness stage. She is just a snuggling cat now..always in my bed wanting my pillow...

Leaving some groceries by the kitchen door
That needed to go in the panty on the next floor,

must be some panties... ( chuckling)

now now..I should have thought better of picking at an obvious typo... just couldn't resist... so I apologize..

I like the poem and as usual you carry the images well throughout..

ROTFL
Could it be you meant pantry not panty?
Maybe yes, maybe no.

Thank you, Nakdthoughts,
Twicely for the reply

And a special Thanks to Cpat Hair,
For showing that everyone should reread their work
Out loud, to catch mistakes.
I you might guess I wrote this in a hurry and no must correct.

Thank You, Midnitesun,
I correct it, but I’m sure the image will stay
With those that read it before correction,
Pleased to add to your enjoyment.
