(not her, but an almost exact match, just so you could see what she looked like)

Hushed Little Baby

I fell in love with a little girl
who would never grow up
born with golden loose curls
small as a fragile teacup.

She was, and always will be
Baby, and so she was named
with green eyes soft & lovely
with floor length swaying mane.

For 18 years we shared our lives
Tiny and shy, yet she stayed
On love and affection she thrived
For Maltese's are just made that way.

Her spot: huddled under my chin
Beaming up with her caring eyes
Tongue stuck out with toothy grin.
Only being alone could make her cry

My brave little girl: still shy, demure
was now in pain, yet showed it not
with baseball growths of cancer tumors
Her courage and strength shan't be forgot.

I dreaded the day she began to pant
Her rasping breath: a warning chant
Just picking her up would make her cough
cataracts making her soft eyes tough.

'Beezbo' was her secret name:
one she would come to no matter the pain
In cold October, amidst a freezing rain
I called: Beezies! but she no longer came.

So Hush, my sweet angel; close your eyes.
Sleep and dream of all our special times
Though your corner is absent as you depart
Forever, you’ll stay, Baby,
deep within my heart.

~ ~ ~

Dedicated to the memory of the world’s sweetest
little girl Maltese dog:Baby Beezbo who passed a week ago.

Only God understands how much I loved her

Hi Jeff,
I'm so sorry for your loss.  I know the heartache of losing a beloved pet.  We had our poodle for 16 years and it's like losing a member of the family.  Heartfelt write.

Oh, Jeff...
I'm so sorry that you lost your little "Baby".
If you read my poem about my "Other Baby",
you'll see that I understand a little of how
you feel. Next month he'll be a year old
and I love him more than I thought I could
ever love an animal.
I know it has to be an enormous loss and pain.

Love makes the world go 'round (unkown)
with love and hugs from Ethel

Oh Jeff...God, and others, understand, believe me.  Eighteen years for a small dog...that is unreal, and so showing of the love and care you gave her...

You do know, that when a dog lets you handle them through the worst pain, that they are showing the ultimate love...

So she did.

I did:
I cried
four times at each reply
for while she is Heaven's gain
I am still not over
the missing-her pain.

Thank you all, for your helpful words.  I really DO miss her.  Putting her down was perhaps the hardest thing i have ever had to do.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Jeff, I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your baby Beezbo, sweet friend, I know just how it feels to lose a pet so dear as when I was a little boy I had two kittys, Suky and Holly, but one died of the flu and another ran away! (wipes tears) My heart goes out to you, sweet frined, always know your baby will always be barking happily above and forever be blessed to have a sweet, loving owner...you! (sends angel hugs your way) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jeff, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Gosh Jeff,  putting me in tears with this
one....too many memories....

18 years is exceptional....can be much of
a person's life...and IS part of that life
as well.

Thanx for this one...your love is so obvious.

I'm so sorry to hear of what has happened to your Baby. You have been together for 18 years and I know you must have many happy memories that the two of you have shared. She will always be in your heart, in your soul. Very beautiful and moving tribute to your friend and companion of many years.

Jeff, what you did to ease her pain and suffering was a very selfless and courageous act of love.

God bless you and Baby Beezbo.

~ May your warm and wonderful memories of your beloved friend ease the pain of your loss.

Dear Jeff

Reading this has brought back the memory of my special friend, Tiger.  Her special talent was hugging...and somehow sitting with her arms around my neck became a special and healing meditation.  My heartfelt sympathy to you for your loss, Jeff!

ShadowRider - I've been very touched by your write about 'Baby'. Had a close pet also, and was devestated with his loss some years ago....

Not Beezbo, tell me it isn't so!!

I'm so sorry Jeff~ I didn't know~

My "B" has been working for a vet for some time now and has a hard time detaching herself from loving every pet that comes through the door, and worse to witness the sorrow in their owners eyes when the end draws near.

You couldn't pay me enough!!

I feel for you my friend.  Hugs and all~

This is soooo hard.....
Got news this week, Beezbo's mate: Tribble
ran off from my ex-wife's new house.
He hasn't been found yet and he's deaf
and can't hear them call for them.
When it rains it pours.....two Maltese's
buddies in one week....i am heartbroken.
Special thank you, Lori...we have talked about how loving she was on several occasions and even named my old email account and former logon's after her.
To the rest of you caring people:  its a dear
comfort to know my heart is in good hands with such caring poet's.  Thank you all.
Jeff
