Once a Little Girls Fear

Sleep had overcome me
I dreamed you were dead
My tears were overflowing
from the horror in my head

I saw you both so clearly
as you danced together in my mind
I remembered looking up at you
a moment seized by time

realizing no forever,
when boundaries of time are lost
I dream today you are alive
knowing life and death have crossed

How strange the truth
that now is turned
It chills me now and then
To wonder what is really real
the beginning or the end

(big huggsssssss) Oh Electra, this deeply touched my heart because I know this feeling ever so well. Especially between the times I was 10-13 years old, I had nightmares almost every night and I tried staying awake and lived through severe insomnia because I feared I would be killed in my sleep and wouldn't get to see a new beginning! (sad sigh) You speak with all your heart, God Bless You, I send angel hugs your way, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Electra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I do not know either-- "What is really real, the beginning or the end." I'm hoping it is the end!

Dreams can seem so real that it is sometimes difficult to separate fact from fantasy.

Well done SG!

This is so very intruiging, Electra...
I dream of my father quite often, and I do believe that he is alive somewhere and trying to communicate with me through these dreams...
I also dream of Eric and Monty, and those dreams are often so vivid that they hurt...
What is real?  Who knows?
Maybe they do... finally at the end
I love your poem

SimplyGold, this is a very intense poem. And so very true. It is hard to determine when a dream is real or fantasy at times. thanks for sharing.

Thank you Noah, hope those nightmares are gone forever.

EA, Your comment intriqued me. I hope that the end is the beginning.

Madame Chippy, Yes this is exactly the point. What is the dream, maybe we are in it now. I think that life and death is like a mirror sometimes you're looking in and sometimes you're looking out. Which is which?
Perhaps we are just back to back and we just flip flop.

SmartChic, thank you. Interested in your answers, any?

Bill, Yes and after reading your last poem I'm glad they are.

Thank you Garysgirl, sometimes I'm a little too intense. One of the reasons I love to read EA, Toe, Cspat and others.

Magnus, thank you for your generous reply.
Glad you enjoyed.

Thank you all so much.

Affectionately,

SimplyGold~ Wonderful poem, love the thoughts on dreams.
To dream of what has been or what will be. The mind is so complicated when it comes to dreams. I heard somewhere that we dream every time we sleep, but we remember very few of our dreams...Paul

SG, I enjoyed reading this and found the question very haunting and thought provoking.

There are many times that my dreams seem to be so real and times when I feel I am living in a parallel universe. Interesting how the mind works and seems to play tricks. Or maybe not.

Hugs, Marti

I think that many times dreams part the veil and we see what is normally blocked.  I hope that this is so, as I have had some dreams I think are real.  Enjoyed this poem!

Big thoughts for that little girl. You probably are not as fearful now? Funny, I always wonder if this life is real or if it has some special meaning. Thank you for a very nice poem.

Paul,

Yes, I have read this too. This is a fascinating subject for a lot of people. I think dreams hold a lot of meaning if the dreamer can understand the symbols relevant to them.
Thanks for the interaction.

Robert,

When I was a little tyke, I had dreamed that my parents were dead. I remember waking up crying. This is a reality that children seldom really think about. We tend to think our parents will be forever. The irony is that years later as an adult I dreamed that they were alive waking up then to the reality that they were not. That irony never leaves me.

Thanks for looking in. Oh, by the way did you show your neice your poem?
