~Sisterly Love~

There are no words to express
the unspoken bond between sisters

ribbons of tenderness
embroidered with caring
and trimmed with the lace of affection

our lives braided and tangled
from birth until forever
offsprouts...rooted of the same tree
maturing together, our tendrils entwined

through moments of time and season
the silken strand of sisterhood
raveling and coiling into the years
twisting and looping and knotting
woven into a tapestry
tinted warmly with sisterly love
~

Lyra, this touches my heart. I have one sister (younger than me). I always loved her and wanted us to be close. But, she didn't feel the same about me, as I felt about her. I wish she had.0

I bet these sentiments, and the photos, moved her to tears. What a blessing you are to each other!

Oh, sweet Chippymunk, this is simply a beautiful description of sisterhood. I echo my sister Enchantress in saying I "love her to pieces" too. Your sister will adore this poem and I wish her a Happy Birthday. Well done Lyra!! hugs to you, Chris

Little Chippy,

I really, really love this poem. I have four sisters and we have a very special bond. We have become much closer over the years and I'm so grateful that we share this closeness. I'm so happy for you and your sister. This is such a special relationship.

Happy Birthday to her!

A very lovely poem for your sister, Lyra.  I can easily relate, as I have four sisters and eight brothers.  There's no bond quite like that.  Tell her Happy Birthday for me. *hugs*

Thanks so much, Bill... I'm glad you liked it

Julie... So glad you enjoyed

Noah... thanks so much for the reply... but, I don't think you will ever see my sister post poetry here or anywhere else for that matter...
We are like 2 sides of a coin... She is totally right brained, very organized and analytical...  I am just the opposite, creative and disorganized... She also has blue eyes and blond hair and freckles... while I have dark hair, eyes and skin...
She loves my poetry but she generally doesn't read poetry other than mine... and she doesn't like to write creatively... but at least there's a picture of her here now!

Paul...Thanks so much for sending me that poem, I wish you would post it here... its beautiful

Dawn... Sisters are very special...  My sister is my second best friend... my husband is my very best friend

Sue... thanks for your reply, and I am so sorry that your sister feels that way... but it really is her loss because you are a delightful person to know

Nancy... and Chris...  It was so nice to hear from both of you... and I can tell that you love each other to pieces just like my sister and I do...

Linda... yes, she loved the whole thing.  She doesn't remember the photo being taken when she was a baby because she was only a baby, but I remember very clearly... the day those were taken... thank goodness I've finally grown into my teeth and my ears

Marge.. thanks so much for enjoying my poem and for tying those hugs onto the end of the ribbons

Karilea... Its so nice to see your smile... and I already told her

Scorpio... thanks so much for your reply and welcome to Passions... I hope to find some of your work to read

Electra... I never knew you had such a big family... Are you the oldest, youngest or somewhere in the middle?

Barry... thanks for the birthday wishes for my sister... and for the hugs

Charisma... thanks so much for enjoying my poem

Michael... Wow... you sure have a big family.
13 kids... How did they ever manage that?

Skyfire... Glad you enjoyed...
~ loving chipmunk hugs to all of you
