This was my first and only attempt at writing without rhyming....tell me what u think.... I don't understand love It's confusing What is it's purpose? Sometimes I wonder if there really is true love Or if we just imagine something that's not there To fill a void That empty feeling inside Some people can say "I love you" to every partner they keep But do they really love this person? If they examined their relationship They would probably find out it wasn't love It was merely a word A word they said because it sounded like the right thing to say I really don't believe anyone knows what true love is We just get lonely We start to believe in something that isn't there Sometimes I really think we have no purpose on earth All that we do and accomplish Doesn't account for much No one remembers all these things when our time comes To leave this world Love is lost Love is forgotten People move on and memories become vague They begin to forget what you look like What you smell like How you like your coffee in the morning How you love to be held at night as you drift off to sleep They find someone new and begin the process of loving all over Still not knowing Maybe never knowing What love really is. |

SEA....Thank you....I did rather enjoy writing it and perhaps one day in the near future. I shall try writing another. I have much to learn on all the different styles of poetry and the different rhyming patterns. But I enjoy writing and there will be many new things to come from me. I look forward to seeing you around. |
