By glow of surreal light
she stood by window in dead of night
as a child I saw her standing there
surrounded by sleep thickened air.

Looking upon a moonlit sky
as if waiting a love on wings to fly
awash with a gentle soul caress
to calm a heart in need of rest.

No spirit this but an elder dear
I saw one night so very near
a night at grandma's spent in youth
presented to me this magic viewed.

Adorned in gown of vintage age
trimmed in soft feathered lace
standing still in moonlit glow
a shadow cast on night's window.

She swore though yet upon the morn
a dream in thought instead was born.
