“MY FRIEND’S DATE (final)”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
Wrote two poems a little while back,
about my best friend, and his date…
If you remember about it correctly,
was in AL, that’s how to abbreviate…
Well those hill folk in the mountains,
didn’t like outsiders, with their women…
They had all those white lightening stills,
revenuer’s coming, was their objection…
We all know about his sweetheart date,
which is my friend’s only real heartthrob…
He really wanted to marry her, but whoa,
oh forgot, her name is Mary Lynn Bob…
Well I arrived, just in the knick of time,
because they caught them both on the hill…
In back of Willy Bob’s place, another friend,
they all took them, behind the sawmill…
My friend and his date, that southern belle,
and that’s about the end of this story…
Except they were married in a hurry though,
stay tuned, next episode from BC, yours truly…
(giggles in delight) Hey, that's not fair, you lied to us that this was the ending! (smiles) Just kidding, I love suprises and can't wait to see how the wedding goes! (big hugggsssssss) This is such a wonderfully amusing story, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Bill, thank you for sharing!
May love and light always shine upon you!
Bill, don't spook me like that buddy! I thought that (final) meant this was your last poem for awhile. Whew!
A much different though much enjoyed BC...
Thanx Bill,  the hills must have touched you
in one way or another....or was it some of
that white lightning???
Did her daddy have bluejean coveralls and smoke a corncob pipe??   I can just see them now back in the hills and "hollars".
