Battle cry, Battle cry
let them know we are here, the forgotten soldiers who saved the world.

In the background I hear TAPS being played
as one more hero of yesterday is taken away;

The Vanishing voices still call
the few who have yet joined
their comrades of world war II.

The voices could be heard,
battle cry after battle cry
history does not lie.

Your fears, laughter
and tears of anger roll
over the war torn ground.

from Adolf's appetite,
where is our sound,
our memories our pride.

It is with these last few soldiers
who have yet to die.

We are a vanishing voice
but it is a whisper of modest pride

This was written for the "Vanishing Voices" book being dedicated to raise money for veterans

Thank you for this...and yes,  they are
dying at an ever increasing rate, being as
how it has been almost 60 years since that great
war started....My father IS one of them,
now feeling his age...

I remember the day I sat next to him and
said thank you for giving us our freedom.

He became overwhelmed by that moment, we
both did....So very few people ever told
him thank you...

I want to again say thank you to YOU for
this...  I am a Cold War Vet,  after 25
years of service for my country....you
don't owe me thanks....easily enduring most
every moment of it,  even the hardships
away from family were tolerable compared
to what THEY endured....Our's was a cake
walk...(other than those that fought/died in
'Nam...who lived through their own hell)
and some still are to this day...and the
same applies to the Korean War Vets....
