Tattooed Contemplations

Butterfly bottlebrush bowers
brushed her bangles,
as to looseleafed shadows
she bent her head,
contemplated,
         then lowered to the bench

to sit, lightweight, alone,
watching in sly eye the dance of summer
in profuse gay, wishing an attitude
would wear as well as the
bouncing wings before her,

and then…

then…

lone butterfly of yellow/black stripes came to find
this woman’s nectar,
for she scented air zones with vanilla bean oils,
butterfly hovering its shadow lightly here, there, tattooing
its bounce hither to yon
in dance

oblivious to winds pushing,
as if butterfly had invisible lines, puppetmastering
woman’s skirt to dance in cadence
with butterfly’s song,

woman watches
as butterfly shadows
speckle her thoughts

wind lifting skirt to sky then back
to rest upon bronzed thigh
flower, allowing
a brief sigh,
butterfly to light,
turning to eye woman
fold its wing
in prayer,
then,

begins lifting her in freedom

(smiles) Oh my gosh, when I read this, I envisioned the sight of a tiger swallowtail flittering like a plastic bag in the breeze on the prairie and the woman holding it by the tip of her finger, this is gorgeous, I LOVE IT!!! This is one of my favorites of yours yet, I am adding this to my library now, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Karilea

Butterflies only dance around special souls..and to feel their touch, like angel kiss, will leave a piece of love with you.  Beautiful!

and you want me to teach you. . .

I'd say that it would have to be the other way around my friend. . .

so perfectly expressed, Karilea...
butterflies are lovely creatures and of course, always well dressed and dancing the dance of summer...
