One Love split by ocean’s width
Sandy beaches whisper scandal
Neither lover two defined
Shot a glance into a heart
Painful saline from its depths
One love less distinct
Watched the amber waves once sink
From hair that draped o’er the sun
She’d seen through eyes of glass
Bottom boat where all’s revealed
Nay eyes are cast upon the yield
One love whose eyes bought a watch
Unerring time the tide brought in
For moon is cursed diadem
Those lovers wear to bed

At night the coolness
makes love to foam
As her boat shall spread the tide
The hot air lifts from waves
and forms
A teary-eyed goodbye

Though love be a hand that holds many seas
I lost her on the breeze
