Sometimes

Sometimes my house a tortoise shell
I out my nose and take a smell.
And if the air to me not sweet
Beat an immediate retreat.

I’ve lost the edge to fight each day
I’d rather wedge and dream away.
I do, do things that I must tend
But only those that don’t offend

Like a tortoise I move quite slow
Study each movement as I go
Will not fritter away my time
To me that is the only crime.

Each movement is a statement clear
The sum of all I see and hear.
And when I’m ready, move again
It’s how I reached this age Amen.

It’s not our speed that meets our need
It’s more I think the act and deed.

Ah Sy ... a wisdom-filled read to start my day. Ok, I'll print this out, and plod along slow and steady today. If I start losing myself and going too fast, I'm pulling you out of my purse for another read!  Thank you for this excellent reminder for me this morning.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

Morning Sy,
Well, what a wonderful way of dealing with life in general.  I appreciate your attitude about day to day life. No need to get too impatient with matters.  You live longer too. Good stuff here!

Seymour darling boy this dear friend is utterly utterly lovely, your morning rhymes always seem to find their way into the very depths of my soul and snuggle down there as if they are right at home. Which of course they are. This again such amazingly well written, the image and the thought go hand in hand toward tomorrow.

When tasting sips of morning fine
You dislike the sup of time’s wine
Empty the wine and switch the cup
From which your daily dues you sup
Within the shadow of time’s grace
You know that tortoise win’s the race
Intend of purpose slow and steady
Simply shout for me and I’m ready
To walk with you along times shore
I’d stroll with you my friend Seymour

And this is a truly exceptional poem from you and I utterly utterly love it.

Good morning darling boy

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the eathquake wind and fire
Oh

AMEN!!!!

Somedays my Stinky's mojo moves so slow
Dont rush him ... he's got no "get up and go"
His get up and go ... got up and went
His hustle and bustle has all been spent.

Still he gets done all that needs be done
He'll waste no sun, he's slow motion on the run.
But I know how to charge Randy's battery
His mojo will get up and go with me raspberry tea

Have you ever seen a turtle soar and spit fire before?
No shell will be able to store Randy when hes ready to roar.

Sy, there's a story that says crocodiles are dragons with heart disease so it's possible turtles are also part of that species.
Loved the poem and the slow-me-down

Seymour hi there, this is excellent. You know exactly what we all want, it's time to rest in peace’s delight. This is sensational writing

Steady as a rock
Movement slows to a stop
Still finds my release

I love this one you certainly can write and I love the flow as always Seymour your skill amazes me

BRAVO!!! Oh Seymour, I couldn't agree with you more, sweet friend, it helps to take each day slowly and live up to each moment rather than rush to tomorrow, for we may miss so much in-between the lines it may seem dirty! (big hugggssssss) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

You are so right about that, Sy...
I think there are so many mistakes made because people are in too much of a hurry.
I really like your philosophy and your poem.
