Iridescent strains of light
Bequeath days end
And welcome night

The waters of my conscience roll
Against the dams
Of my control

Flooding fields where once did grow
The youthful dreams
I planned to sow

Unchartered storms from foreign seas
Arrived to bring
Complexities

And unknown depths of deep regret
A hallowed hall
So few suspect

Bags123,
This is an excellent write. I can see a little of myself in this.

Ah, I'm going to like reading you...
as for "old" - it's a state of mind,
but I've a few old poems I could share
with you on that very subject...

who knows...they might be in need of a reposting...

yep.  I'm going to like reading you...

In the mind...as Sunshine said....hmmmmm...
tell my mind that it is just my mind that
sees the gray, feels the aches...

Another excellent poem of your creation...
You are really quite good at this...
