Make Me Like a Child
By Larry Chadwick

Give me a child’s heart,
More sensitive to all.
Making me more inclined,
To hear your tender call.

Give me a child’s mind,
Small though it may be.
Making me more dependant,
And thinking less of me.

Give me a child’s eyes,
They know less of what they see.
Making me more teachable,
To be what I should be.

Give me a child’s hands,
They are busy as can be.
Making you more able,
To do as you please through me.

Give me a child’s legs,
They are closer to their knees.
Making me more inclined,
To do as you would please.

Give me a child’s feet,
They have energy to spare.
Making me more willing,
To show how much I care.

Give me all of these things,
That I may be for you.
The very kind of person,
That will do as you would too.

(smiles) This is soooooooo beautiful, sweet friend, I believe the spirit of the child will always be with all of us as long as we never take it for granted, and while we may grow and see and learn so much more, the beauty of innocence can never falter in the love we find in others! (big hugggsssss) This is so beautifully heartfelt, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Larry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Larry - oh, I do believe there's a little child in all of our hearts. I enjoyed this so much, I think I might even share my penny candy with you.....if you don't choose any of the red ones!!! Chris

Larry...Very moving poem and a poem that leaves much room for thought. If only we were more like a child...how new and delightful everything would seem.

This was beautiful, Larry. To loosen our burdens, enjoy.... play, look at things with the freshness and innocence behind a child's eyes is truly a gift.
