A box of letters in a drawer
from two hearts with darkened tear ink
Written words penned of a lover
on moonlit nights as stars did sink

Folded pages lying in there
telling of a time of romance
words of rhyme two lovers did share
from heart to heart and one more chance

A smudge or two upon the lines
from tears of remember from then
making two hearts ‘gain softly pine
to have it all just once again.

A sigh and sob so soft from lip
as eyes reflect the view of past
The words that flowed as two hearts skip
read once again, to always last.

Moments in memory of a time
when words flowed in flames of passion
Two souls romance written in rhyme
A box of words in rhyme's fashion

now tucked away... eternally not forgotten

Hello Barry

Your words were so beautiful and so very moving.  They reminded me of a favourite movie of mine "The Bridges Of Madison County".  I never tire of reading your magnificent words of love.

Take care.....Sue

Magnus~
Bet you didn't know you'd pegged me with this one~

I have every personal letter that I've ever received, every post card, every greeting card ... to part with one of them would be to tear off a little corner of my heart~

How treasured they've become through the years~
Thank you for this beautifully penned drift through nostalgia~
