A New Beginning

By a bay of quiet waters
With my thoughts, the only sound
Solitude, a new companion
Mist, the walls of my surround

In a harbor of contentment
As the fog rolled out to sea
All the deepness of resentment
Left my heart and set me free

Launched into the moving lather
Lifted by the rising mist
All the darkness that had gathered
In my mind could not resist

Floating into cloudy billows
Drifting farther from the pier
On a soft and downy pillow
Sailing seaward was my fear

Farther from the well of memory
Closer to tomorrow's dream
Morning cleared the mind of every
Phantom harbored in the steam

By a bay of quiet waters
With myself, the only friend
I have seen a new beginning
I have seen a quiet end

Liz

How wonderful that you found this place taking away the bad, leaving such peace.  We all need something like this, even if just in our heart.  Beautiful poem.  Hugs!

I need to find this place... bitterness is not a welcome addition to my thinking. *S*

So very lovely, Elizabeth. *S*

Its a long road to get to this place of healing and spiritual freeing....much soul searching is part of safe passage...

You always present your thoughts in a soft, graceful manner (I know I sound like a broken record), but, truly this is soft and so very lovely!

Take care,

*shaking my head* If I didn't know how hard it was to write poetry that flows this smooth and easy, I would think that you just toss these off! But I do know better, and I compliment you on the appearance of ease.

You remain among my favorites, Liz.

Beautiful.

(sigh) Life is indeed a long journey, and I know with all my heart when one door closes, another one opens and we will find a moment of peace we can forever hold close and be reminded of it every step of the way through the bitterness! (kiss on cheek) This is powerfully touching, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Elizabeth, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Liz...this poem is absolutely lovely and full of grace, but not half so much as she who wrote the words. You, my dear poetress, are an incredible poet who shines through her words and probably the dearest and most incredible person that I've had the priveledge to meet.

There was a very gentle and reflective feel to this....sometimes we all need a new beginning and I cherish the ones I have had....I'll tuck this away for the next time I need one. Beautiful work, Liz.

Your poetry is always such a pleasure to enjoy.  It is hard to find a favorite among your works as they are so appealing to the eye and heart.
