Magnolia Bend
By: Noah Eaton
11/20/01

Weeping willows welter in the tangerine rain
Lifting their flowering bangs to a spectrum hurricane
Belly-dancing to the reggae cypress briars
Rattling pineapple tiaras against the daybreak lyre

Down beneath where the swan and dolphin bathe
A shy mellow magnolia bend hosts Mother Nature’s menagerie
Orchids cradle their children, sipping a waft of the morning’s green tea
Whilst the crape myrtles father her offspring

Sherbet shadows drip from a citrus sky
Where the morning glories answer to Dawn’s melismatic cry
Orange groves ripe to the freshness of the season
Harmony balancing what we see to our imagination

Here I pull up the covers and rest in Her concinnity
Watching the pale sky break in serenity
Gazing into the eye of a magnolia, kissed by a honeybee
As my hair caresses across my face, daydreaming under my palm tree…

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

Shakira

What beauty! Just today I admired the very tall and magnificent magnolia tree we have near our house. You weaved magical words and created a wondrous atmosphere here.

Noah, this poem is so pretty, and the pictures match it too. Nicely done.

I have been daydreaming under palm trees and slacking...but I did adore the sweet read here, noah and your wonderful uplifting style and presentation...
I have been into my painting and creativity has drawn me thetre more than the write at the moment. But I do sneak back here to view my buddy's poems when i can.
I am sure glad that i did today..I have missed you!
big hugs, Cher

Oh Noah, my friend,
Thas is  SOOOOO  beautiful. I love
Magnolias. There are two trees of them over
at my house in the country. They are so
pretty. And the pictures here of all the
flowers are simply beautiful.

Heart Hugs,

Lovely, lovely views and exquisite visions within your words. Love your descriptive words so very much!

You had to be a southern person in a former life.I have always thought of magnolias as being tree sized bouquets.
