Where’d The Time Go?
3/10/03

Where’d the time go
When my only care was
What friend to play with
Or what bugs to catch?
Where clouds turned to bunnies
And the night sky was endless?

Where’d the time go
When boys drooled
And girls ruled?
Where any hurt was mended
By a kiss from mama
And daddy was superman?

Where’d the time go
When love was kisses
From grandma’s lips
And candy from grandpa’s coat?
Where good-byes didn’t hurt
And “see ya soon” meant just that?

Where’d the time go
When pretty was the ribbons
In my hair
And a macaroni necklace?
Where everyday was spent
Being daddy’s little princess?

Where’d the time go
When life was cake and candy
With cherries on top?
Where it was simple
And I had naught
To keep me from happiness?

This is something i find myself wondering and thinking about as i grow older and the realities of life hit me square in my face! Im only 23 but man...oh how i wish i could be so young again and not have a care in the world....*sighs*

I enjoyed this very very much!

A dream is but a dream, you can wake up.  Reality is ultimate, and those who share it with us are far more important than anything we could remember,

When you get to be my age you will be asking this question every day! There is a loss of innocence in this piece. Very well done.

Hugs, Marti

These are thoughts we all have... and yet there is never an answer.

I too feel that way.. I wrote poems about the same subject. How the time just flies by without warning.. And you cant do anything to stop it, or prevent it. It just happens, like day turns to night. So I can relate to the way you feel right now.

Read ^ there, because you are reading the wrong part!
