Finger Touched

I have been finger touched
By the glove of ecstasy
As love brushed my elbow
In giddiness,
Scoffing at my desires

Then waving a pointed gesture
To a window reflection

Where I saw a hand detached
From its mime
Tapping me on the shoulder
As though it were my turn

And I drew in a deep sigh
of heartbeats,
My mind fogged in euphoria

Trembling hands pulling
some strands of blond highlights
Into place
Lips pursing a new shade of
Plum delight

But it was all in jest

The fingers did not beckon me
into the moonlit night

Instead, they brushed off a
Speck of lint from my sleeve
And disappeared into the
shadows of dreams
with echoes of laughter following them

It seems that
love was not ready for me

Just checking to see if
I was ready for love

(big hugggssssss) Oh Elizabeth, I too know this haunting feeling, sweet friend, I just want to fall in love though sometimes I'm skeptical and think maybe love just isn't for me and I should leave it for those who need it more!
