Beyond All Fear

Sometimes the night makes us strong.
The hours of dark carpet my mind
allowing the ache, a softness to set.
I let the night take me with you,
that voice I hear, whispering
of the unknown, drifting me to a place
where I often wander to watch a sunset
or the moon's rise, a peacefulness
of memories, when I could count on you
to be here for me.

I sit in the darkness, letting the shadows
sway my thoughts, the days' pressures gone,
and the music of the night
containing me in warmth, allowing me
to create my own fantasy world,
with bits and pieces of you
layered upon my own and with nowhere to go,
I watch our sihouettes disappear
hand in hand, on the other side of the night,
beyond all fear, knowing "true love never dies."

M

"Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less."

true love never dies, even when we have to
imagine at night and take it to the other side, a place for it, if only in dreams, sometimes is the only alternative to letting it die out. this may not make sense to you, but it does to a current thread going thru
my lovelife right now

yes it makes sense, Michele. I have not been in love many times in my life.

The first being with my husband for over 30 some years...the second more recent, but maybe it was just one-sided love, I can't even tell anymore what is real or just fantasy, because I never expected to lose the love of another.

And once in college, I was infatuated with someone. I am not even sure what it should feel like anymore. But I know that when I truly love someone, even if not returned, it never turns to hate and it never ends. It may tuck itself away, to be brought out in dreams when needed. (crazy huh?)

yes, i know,
like this aberration, the rainbow i chase, not meant to be caught, because he wouldnt
be as attractive if he was, but the gift he gives me of bringing him into my dreamworld
cant be matched by anything tangible on earth
