The Dance

I reluctantly gave love a chance
And it took me for a dance
It fed upon my heart
Tearing me apart
It ripped out my soul
And took it for a stroll
To the underworld; hand-in-hand
Through putrid quick sand

So I prayed for just one more day
To find my dismal way
Back from the depths of hell
With a promise to never again fail
To recognize, Satan’s disguise

But alas, I learn, I still lose
For my all consuming hate
Is an identical fate
Eternal damnation
No salvation

Thank you!

Ron,

Nothing is forever, so true.

My words are a cloak of disguise
I am so much more than you may surmise
I am stronger then I let you see
So no need to worry about me

Susan

(chuckling)

Strength found
on nights knife edges
still bleeds
drops of soul

not worried... takes strength to write it...and some understanding of what it takes to go on... figure you have both

LOL.. Bombastic huh... well I guess if you want to become a bombast..who are we to stop you...

of course.. us pore simple folk probably won't get the pretentious words you use...so you may have to provide cliff notes for us dummies

Pretentious?? Hmmm..what ryhmes with pretentious? Snob?  no that's not it...

Well, my friend, the point was not to see if you knew what it meant but rather to see if you laughed.  Humor is so much more fun than intellect.

Yes but certainly not necessary.  I am amused by my slightly dizzy mum all the time!
