It was a long slow freeze.
It had taken what seemed
like an eternity to arrive.
The temperatures fluctuated
never holding steady enough
for the conditions needed.

The cold had finally settled in
finding permanent refuge
there, where the light
could no longer try
to shine its warmth.

As time passed
the layers thickened,
steadily forming
until at times it would
be to hard to walk
upon the surfaces
that allowed thought
to slip away.

Even the mirror could tell
how time had taken its toll.
The colors had become so faded,
so very lifeless.

Crystallized images
captured in a reflection
no longer recognizable
as the picture of
what once was, but instead
what had become.

The spring had found
its own reason
to delay
the coming season,
but as all things
must come to pass,
so must come the thaw.

It was a long, slow thaw.
It had taken what seemed
like an eternity…to arrive.

much appreciated it.} /pip/Forum64/HTML/001034.html

Sometimes we must hibernate, before the spring.

This, is just an anology...

and a beautiful one, at that....

Donna, I am so proud of you!

Yes, Donna
Exactly so. So much, in fact, that you've proved my point.....that I just scribble.

If something I wrote, inspired this?

Dang!

May love and light always shine upon you!

...but the thaw does eventually come, and you wrote of this in such a gentle and graceful manner...

Lovely, Donna. Absolutely lovely. I am still feeling the emotion that your poetic words evoked in me.

Warm, heartfelt hugs,
